Before becoming a therapist, I spent 18 years in high-performance environments—as a Division I athlete and later as a Division I coach, including at Columbia University.
That experience shapes how I understand pressure, discipline, identity, competition, and setback. I’ve seen firsthand what it takes to pursue meaningful goals—and the emotional cost that can come with it.
My work is especially well-suited for people who are driven, capable, and used to pushing through challenges. Therapy here is about clarity, responsibility, emotional flexibility, and building a way of living that holds upright on your path.

I provide virtual individual therapy for adults (18+) across New York State.
-
Virtual sessions are conducted through a HIPAA-compliant video platform. You can attend from any private location within New York State.
Many clients find virtual therapy to be just as effective as in-person sessions, with the added benefit of convenience and consistency.
-
The best way to determine fit is through a brief introductory call or an initial session. I work best with adults who are thoughtful, motivated, and willing to examine their beliefs and patterns honestly. If after speaking we determine another referral would be more appropriate, I will say so.
-
My practice provides outpatient individual therapy for adults who are stable and seeking structured, reflective work around anxiety, pressure, life transitions, and relationship challenges.
Certain conditions require specialized treatment models or a higher level of care. For example, individuals diagnosed with Borderline Personality Disorder (BPD), or those experiencing severe emotional dysregulation that typically requires comprehensive Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) programming, are often best served in dedicated DBT programs rather than individual outpatient therapy alone.
Similarly, individuals experiencing any of the conditions below often require a higher level of care or specialized services:
Active suicidal intent
Recent suicide attempts
Ongoing severe self-harm
Active psychosis
Unmanaged bipolar disorder
Active substance dependence
If at any point I believe another provider or treatment setting would better support your needs, I will discuss this openly and help guide you toward appropriate resources.
-
Standard sessions are approximately 45 minutes.
-
My work is informed by CBT/REBT and existential therapy.
We examine the beliefs and narratives shaping your emotional responses, clarify the values you want to live by, and build practical skills for responding to pressure with more flexibility and agency.
-
I require at least 48 hours notice for cancellations or rescheduling. Sessions cancelled with less than 48 hours notice may be subject to the full session fee. Insurance companies do not reimburse for late cancellations or missed appointments.
-
The first session focuses on understanding what’s bringing you to therapy, your history, and what you would like to change. We will also discuss how I work and determine a direction for future sessions.
-
The length of therapy varies depending on your goals. Some clients seek short-term, focused work. When the fit is right, positive changes and improvements can be seen within several sessions.
Others engage in more longer-term exploration and growth. We will revisit this regularly.
-
When clinically appropriate, I provide diagnoses as part of treatment planning and insurance documentation.
Insurance companies typically require a diagnosis for reimbursement. Private pay services do not require a diagnosis.
BILLING & INSURANCE
-
No. Our practice is out-of-network with all insurance plans.
Clients pay the session fee at the time of service. We provide superbills that you may submit to your insurance for reimbursement, depending on your plan.
-
A superbill is a detailed receipt that insurance companies use to review claims from out-of-network providers. It includes session dates, fees, provider information, and required billing codes.
At the end of each month, I can provide you with a superbill that you can submit to your insurance company. Apps like Reimbursify can make this process simple and easy. Typically, you should receive reimbursement from your insurance provider within a few weeks.
-
Sessions for individuals are billed at $250 for 45 minutes. Payment is collected the same day via major credit or debit cards. For clients utilizing their out-of-network benefits, this cost can be significantly reduced by 60-80%.
Limited sliding scale availability may be offered when appropriate.
HSA/FSA funds may be used when eligible. Clients are responsible for confirming coverage with their plan administrator.
-
Superbills are:
Prepared by our billing team
Typically sent monthly via secure email
If you ever need a superbill sooner, you’re welcome to request one at any time.
-
Clients submit superbills directly to their insurance company. You can usually submit your superbill:
Through your insurance company’s online member portal, or
By mailing it to the claims address on your insurance card
If you’re unsure, your insurance company can tell you exactly how they prefer claims to be submitted.
-
Many plans require you to meet an annual deductible before reimbursement begins. This is very common and plan-specific.
-
It depends on your specific insurance plan.
Many plans reimburse a percentage of the session fee after your deductible is met. For some clients, this can be around 60–80% of the insurance company’s allowed amount for out-of-network mental health services.
Other plans may reimburse less, and some may not reimburse at all. Your insurance company can tell you:
What percentage they reimburse
Whether your deductible applies
Because every plan is different, we recommend checking directly with your insurer for details.
