WHY NORD THERAPY

_______

I spent 18 years in Division I athletics — five competing and thirteen coaching, including nine years at Columbia University. Along the way I worked closely with a lot of driven, capable people — and got a real sense of what helped them succeed and what was holding them back.

That experience shaped how I work as a therapist today — helping people who sense there's more available to them, and want to become the person they know, deep down, they have it in them to be.

_______

ABOUT MY WORK

My goal is straightforward: to help you understand yourself more clearly and build a life that’s genuinely aligned with what you value, one that feels inspiring rather than just manageable.

That sounds simple. It’s often a pretty involved, lifelong project, one that requires updating old thought patterns, building new relationship habits, and deciding what matters most to you.

Most people who come here are capable, self-aware, and have already tried figuring things out on their own. What gets in the way usually isn’t effort. It’s a set of patterns, beliefs, and assumptions that have been operating long enough to feel like facts. Some were formed a long time ago. Some made sense once. Most haven’t been examined in a while.

In practice, that means: getting clear on what you actually want, identifying what’s been blocking it, and building something more deliberate in its place. The goal isn’t just feeling better. It’s feeling like you’re the author of your own life.
